When we are born again (accept Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD), out of obedience to HIM, we are baptized in water to symbolize to the whole world these things. First, that I'm a sinner, and I've asked Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of my sins. Secondly, I'm changed, been converted by the Holy Spirit through My relationship with Jesus Christ, and I've been born again of the Holy Spirit. Lastly, I now live a life of repentance and joyous hope, committed to being a disciple (follower) of Jesus Christ, anticipating HIS return to take me home to heaven. (Matthew 28:18-20) Whether you are a new convert to Christianity; or you've been following Jesus for a long time and you've never baptized; or you may not be satisfied with your water baptism.
